Missouri PTA Advocates are Needed
There are two bills that are being considered in the Missouri House of Representatives that Missouri PTA is opposed to. HB 393 and HJR 10 are bills that concern school voucher issues.
There are three MOPTA resolutions that address the topics of tuition tax credits, public funding for education, and school vouchers. They can be found at www.mopta.org under the Legislation tab and Resolutions/Funding.
In addition, there are two bills that MOPTA is supporting concerning third party child abuse reporting. In 2007, MOPTA passed a resolution calling for this legislative change. SB 112 (Kraus) and HB 565 (Denison) are direct results of this resolution. This resolution can be found on our website under the Legislation tab and Resolutions/Health and Safety.
