MOPTA supports House Bill 565 - Testimony by President Elect

. Posted in MOPTA News

On Wednesday, March 1, 2011, Missouri PTA’s President-Elect, Donna Petiford, was in Jefferson City, MO at the Capitol Building to give testimony to the House Committee on Children and Families in support of House Bill 565. This bill would support the protection of third party reporting in instances of child abuse. She was asked to testify on behalf of this bill by Representative Charlie Denison. Missouri PTA passed a resolution in 2007 on this issue, “Third Party Child Abuse Reporting in Missouri Schools.” While at the capital, she also met with Senator Will Kraus, who has introduced Senate Bill 112, which is identical to Bill 565. She expressed our thanks to him for his support on behalf of Missouri PTA.
